Scholarship Opportunities
John G. Hondros and Linda Hondros Scholarship
Columbus Board of REALTORS® member John G. Hondros, wife Linda Hondros and Hondros College have provided a means by which financial assistance can be provided for pre-licensing education to a person in central Ohio seeking to obtain a real estate sales license.
Applications should be received on or before September 30, 2011. The John G. Hondros Scholarship is not a loan, therefore repayment is not required. Contact CBR's Brianna George (614) 475-4000 ext. 247 with questions.

James Dwyer Memorial Scholarship
James Dwyer was faculty at Hondros College for over 15 years. Mr. Dwyer was always known for his friendly and inspiring demeanor which transcending into his teaching style and made him a role model for the college and the real estate industry. He was a true professional and was greatly admired by his colleagues and students.
Hondros College would like to honor his commitment to education and the real estate industry by assisting an individual who has the same passions for the pursuit of excellence in the real estate area. This scholarship will be awarded to an individual who will be looking to obtain a full-time, professional career in the real estate industry.
The James Dwyer Memorial Scholarship will include the following:
- The mandatory pre-licensure real estate courses as required by the State of Ohio
- Course required textbooks
- Sales Review Crammer Course with manual
- State of Ohio – required Real Estate Sales 10-hour Post-Licensure course
*All must be completed within one-year of award recipient’s first day of class.
Requirements of Scholarship Applicants:
- Meet the qualifications for licensure as set forth by the State of Ohio.
- Complete required application.
- Submit a one-page typed essay addressing your desire to become a professional within the real estate industry.
- Include two letters of recommendation from non-family members with the application.
- Sign commitment form that after you are licensed, you intend to be an active real estate professional and contribute to the real estate community at some level.
Application Timeline:
DEADLINE: November 15, 2011. Applications received after the due date will not be considered.
AWARDED BY: Mid-December and will be presented at Hondros College Annual Meeting.
