Ohio Continuing Education Requirements
Required Courses
There are no required courses for insurance continuing education. You may take any insurance CE course approved by the Ohio Department of Insurance to complete your 20 hours.Course Options
You are able to take your courses in the Classroom or Online . No final exam is required for online courses.Note:
Attendance in insurance continuing education classes is mandated by the State of Ohio. Arriving late will prevent you from receiving credit for the course you are attending.
Wisconsin Continuing Education Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
Licensed insurance agents who are required to meet continuing education requirements must earn 24 credit hours every 2 years. Agents with an initial expiration date of 2008 will be required to complete 36 hours of continuing education (including 3 hours in ethics) for their 2008 deadline, but will only need to complete 24 hours in subsequent compliance periods.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
Licensed insurance agents who are required to meet continuing education requirements must earn 24 credit hours every 2 years. Agents with a compliance date of 2008 must complete 36 credit hours in 2008, but will only need to complete 24 hours in subsequent compliance periods. Who is required to meet continuing education requirements?
All insurance agents who hold a license in any of the major lines of insurance
(property, casualty, personal lines P&C, life, and accident and health)
as well as those licensed in the limited line of automobile.
Are any agents exempt from the requirements?
Yes. Wisconsin resident agents who hold an exclusive limited line insurance license for credit, legal expense, and title insurance are not required to take the continuing education courses.
License Renewal Date
License renewal dates now match the continuing education compliance date at the end of the licensee's birth month, in the odd or even license issue year. Please visit the

Course Subject Requirements

Carryover Requirements
No. Carry-over of credits is not permitted.
Course Repetition
Credit will not be awarded for the exact same courses repeated in a single reporting period.
Final Exam
Students are required to pass a final, proctored examination in order to complete their self-study courses. They must be monitored by a disinterested 3rd party.

Kentucky Continuing Education Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
Twenty Four (24) CE credit hours are required biennially. Up to 12 hours may be self-study, the remainder must be classroom. Must include 2 hours of ethics and at least 6 hours in one or more of the agent's active lines.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
June 30th even numbered years for residents.
June 30th odd numbered years for non-residents.
License Renewal Date
March 31st odd numbered years for Life and Health
March 31st of even numbered years for Property & Casualty.
Type of courses accepted for CE Credit
Independent self study courses or classroom
Course Subject Requirements
At least 6 hours in one of the lines of authority for which agent is licensed. 2 hours of ethics must also be included and the remaining 16 hours may be taken in any Kentucky approved course.
Only 12 hours may be self-study. The remainder must be classroom.
Carryover Requirements
A maximum of 12 classroom hours may be carried over to the next reporting period.
Course Repetition
Courses may not be taken for credit more than once in a 2 year period.
Final Exam
Self-study final exams are not required to be monitored.
Exemptions
• Individuals with a limited line license for which an exam is not required.
• Individuals licensed less than a year at the time of compliance.
• Adjusters
• Solicitors with limited licenses
