- Complete Background Check through National Background Check, Inc. (NBCI)
- Attend an educational program to prepare for your exam and your new career
- Pass state licensing exam
Note: An individual may not hold both a Real Estate and a Title Insurance license

Steps To Licensure
- Submit a Producer Application for Title License and all appropriate fees and documentation to Thomson Prometric. Applications can be downloaded from the student services section of our website. Applications may also be submitted electronically from the Ohio Department of Insurance Web site: www.ohioinsurance.gov
- Complete an electronic background check through NBCI.
- Once your application, fees, and background check information has been received, Thomson Prometric will process your application and notify you of your ability to test. Once you have been approved to test, Thomson Prometric will send you a Candidate Information Bulletin which will have an examination Notice of Eligibility indicated on the back page.
- You will have three attempts within 180 days from the date on your Notice of Eligibility to pass your exam.

You may test at any Thomson Prometric center across the United States. A complete list of testing centers is available by calling (800) 532 - 2169 or by visiting Thomson Prometric's Web site at www.thomsonprometric.com.
Scheduling your Exam
After receiving your Examination Eligibility from Thomson Prometric, you may register for and schedule your exam by calling Thomson Prometric at (800) 532 - 2169 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday - Friday. Or, you may register for and schedule your exam online by going to www.thomsonprometric.com and selecting "For Test Takers."

Additional Information
Please note that exam fees must be paid in order to schedule your exam. All exam fees are nonrefundable. For each exam retake, you must submit a retake application and applicable fees before you can schedule a re-examination.
