My story starts off with me leaving nursing school about 11 years ago to stay home and care for my daughter. She was born with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder, and needed years of therapy. Since I had my daughter, I’ve spent my time advocating for her.
My daughter is now 10 years old and doing well. I also have a son who is now 18. So, I decided it was my time to go back to school and pick up where I left off. That’s how I found Hondros College of Nursing. I just completed the Practical Nursing program, and it was the most challenging yet rewarding experience.
To those thinking about nursing school – go for it! Challenge yourself, put yourself out there and believe in yourself! It takes self-awareness and self-discipline to succeed, but you can do it. Positivity goes a long way too.
I am usually a very reserved person, but Hondros has encouraged me and helped me grow. If my story can help others and change lives, then that’s all the difference. I had the honor to work with three other students who encouraged me, and I loved every minute of it.
