I have always wanted to be a nurse, but I never thought I could actually do it. I finally decided to go back to school after getting married, having a baby and working full time. I knew I wanted to do more with my life. I decided to go to Hondros College of Nursing, and I knew since day one that it was the right fit for me.
I chose Hondros because of the accelerated program and the class size. The environment is wonderful, and everyone is treated like family! For example, I was known by my name before I even started classes. When I did start classes, it was definitely a challenge at first, but the entire staff helped me through it. They truly want to see you succeed! And they will go above and beyond to do it.
My advice to someone who is thinking about nursing school is that you need to set aside time for life and for school. Classes and homework will take up most of your time, but it’s only for a short period. When you start your classes, seek out people you would want to study and spend a lot of time with.
There is a group of four of us who did this. Sometimes I think we spend more time with each other than our families! Since term one, we have stuck it out together. That is how I have succeeded. We encourage and congratulate each other, and we are there for each other no matter what. If I didn’t have this group to push me in the trying times, I don’t think I would have made it this far.
It’s been hard trying to juggle a family, school, work and life in general, but it will all be worth it in the end. It will be worth it to you too!
