I have always wanted to become a nurse, but I could never make it happen for me. I really enjoy helping people and critical thinking. I have been a CNA for over 11 years, and I decided it was my time. My children have been a big deciding factor. They, along with my husband, pushed me to apply to Hondros and start my nursing career.
I decided to go to Hondros College of Nursing to complete my first step. The availability and schedule options helped me make my decision. Not only that, but the Practical Nursing program can be completed in only a year.
Take my advice if you are starting nursing school. You have to become organized if you are not already. If you have a family, making a schedule with them can make a huge difference as well. I had to talk through the lifestyle changes with my family. I told them I was not always going to be there to make dinner or go grocery shopping. Luckily, I have an amazing husband who is supporting me through it all.
The staff at Hondros is wonderful. They are very willing to meet and work with you if need be. A friendly face is always uplifting!
