I decided that nursing was a career I wanted to pursue following the premature birth of my twins. I went into labor eight weeks early, and my sons were unfortunately not strong enough at birth to come home. We ended up staying in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for over 30 days. At that time, I did not know what would happen from day to day. If it weren’t for the support I received from all the NICU nurses, I would have never made it through.
I knew that I one day wanted to be that person for others and help them during a difficult time in their lives. So, I decided to leave my previous career and enroll at Hondros College of Nursing! I chose Hondros because of the amazing atmosphere. From the moment I applied, the staff was supportive and helped me to accomplish my dream of becoming a nurse. The instructors are AMAZING and want you to succeed. What more could you ask for?
I am an “older” student so I have to work a little harder and study. If you’re thinking about nursing school, I say go for it! Persevere! It will be trying, but the outcome is worth all of the hard work. Don’t give up!
