I got into nursing school because I have a passion for helping people. I believe it is in my DNA. I am originally from Kenya, and I come from a family of healthcare providers. My grandmother was a nurse and my uncle is a doctor. Others in my family are nurses as well.
Hondros College of Nursing has made my dream of pursuing a nursing career a possibility. I already have a degree in healthcare management, so the Direct Entry Option was very fitting for me. Being able to complete an Associate Degree in Nursing program in 15 months was ideal. I worked in hospitality for 12 years, so this is not my first career. I am also a mom.
I loved the idea of not having to wait on a waitlist. Even though I am starting a little later in life, Hondros has made this all possible for me. I could not be more grateful. If you are thinking about becoming a nurse, the ADN program is fast-paced but amazing.
I have had to have discipline with my studies, but it is absolutely doable. If you have a heart for helping others, go for it! It will be so rewarding in the end.
