I decided to pursue nursing because I enjoy helping people. It is a passion of mine to be a part of a team that focuses on improving the health of others. I like being there for people any way I can. I have envisioned helping people since I was a child.

I chose Hondros College of Nursing because the campus was new to Indianapolis, and the program itself appealed to me. I began the program while I was four months pregnant and did not take a leave of absence after giving birth. My other child lost someone she loved dearly the day before my math final, but I kept going.

My advice if you want to start nursing school, know you can do it! Believe in yourself and see your purpose. Nursing school takes self-discipline and organization. I am lucky to have an amazing support system to help me with my children while I am studying and learning.

Whether it is school or personal situations, it is important to stay motivated even if times are rough. It is important to stay focused and remember that there are people who need help, and you can be that caregiver.
