Ever since I was young, I have always loved helping people, and I have always been fascinated by how the body functions. This led me on my journey to nursing, so I could learn how to fix the body when things go wrong. I have also never been a shy person, and I have a strong love for others. My late grandmother would always tell me that I brought joy and comfort in the room. She said I should be in the medical field to bring comfort to those who need it most. I could not think of a better job to comfort people other than nursing.

I decided to attend Hondros College of Nursing partly because of the focused program. I wanted to jump into the field as soon as I could, so knowing I could get my Associate Degree in Nursing in as few as 15 months at Hondros was exactly what I wanted.

If you are thinking about enrolling in nursing school, be prepared to work! There is so much that goes into learning how to become a nurse. It makes sense because when you are a nurse, you are responsible for taking care of patients’ lives. Nursing school will take up hours of your day, but it is all worth it. You will only become better and better. It helps in the long run to be the best nurse possible.

You have to be dedicated and have the ability to keep moving forward even in the face of adversity. It also takes courage. You must have the ability to adapt when things seem insurmountable. Lastly, you have to be compassionate to be a nurse. That translates from the classroom. When you are compassionate towards your peers when you are learning, they will be compassionate towards you.

Nursing has changed my life for the better. If you are even thinking about becoming a nurse, I say go for it! You can achieve anything you put your mind to.
