I have always wanted to be a nurse but didn’t think it was possible. I used to be a pharmacy tech and loved working in a hospital. I figured out that I wanted to do more with patient care. I have been a stay-at-home mom of three kids. But I thought now was my time to shine and fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse.

I decided on Hondros College of Nursing for a few reasons but the big one was the flexible schedule. I wanted to balance home, work and school. It is even more important to me that I can be home during the day for appointments, teacher meetings, etc. My oldest son has autism so having the flexibility for therapy appointments and school functions was a necessity.

Starting is the hardest part. Take my advice and don’t wait for the perfect time. Just take the first step! Believe me, you will be so grateful a year from now. And once you start, believe in your own abilities. That’s what I did. I also had to have confidence in myself. For those that have kids, you have to trust that your kids will adjust to your new schedule. They will grow up seeing you accomplish your goals.

I fully believe that the instructors genuinely care about us as students and future nurses. They want us to succeed and do our best. Hondros also has good clinical sites. Students come out better prepared!
