1. What made you decide to pursue nursing as a career?

When I was 16 years old my brother was in a terrible car accident & life flighted to Grant Medical Center with injuries that could be fixed thankfully. Seeing how amazing the care team was it influenced me to pursue my career into helping others. Now I’m an LPN at the same hospital and working my ADN. My dream is to be an L & D nurse.

Nursing school will the hardest thing you’ll face in your life. You’ll have to give up a lot to achieve those goals. Some friends may not be understanding and stop talking to you because you’re too busy to hang out, but remember you’re working towards something that you’ve wanted since day 1. Anything is possible!!

4. What were the behaviors you had to exhibit in order to reach your goal?

I had to be disciplined and stick to a good way of studying. You also have to learn that you’ll make mistakes and that’s okay! It’s also ok to fail a class in nursing school. Pick yourself up and do way better than before.
