I've always wanted to care for others and help wherever I'm needed. That's what led me to healthcare. One thing I love about this field is that it's a never-ending learning experience. Every day brings something new, and there is always an opportunity to grow.
I worked in the nursing field for many years before deciding to enroll at Hondros College of Nursing part of American Public University System (HCN). I wanted a focused program that would help me reach my goal of furthering my career as a nurse sooner rather than later, and the Associate Degree in Nursing program at HCN gave me that opportunity.
While in school, I continued working full time, including 16-hour shifts every weekend to make ends meet. Balancing work, school, and studying wasn't always easy, but I stayed committed and used my days off to focus on my coursework and prepare for success.
My advice to future students is simple: you can do it. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and love learning, go for it. There will be challenges along the way, but if your heart is in caring for people and helping those who need you, you will succeed.
