My decision to pursue nursing began about two years ago when my dad had a stroke. During his hospital stay, I saw firsthand the level of care, compassion, and dedication the nurses showed him. I instantly developed a deep admiration for what they do, and that experience sparked my passion for patient care.

That passion grew even stronger after he was discharged home. I took on many of his daily care responsibilities, and through that experience, I came to understand how meaningful it is to support someone through recovery. When my dad eventually recovered, I made the decision to give back for the care he received. I knew the best way to do that was to become a nurse and provide the same level of compassion and support to others.

When I made the decision to pursue nursing, I knew I wanted to attend a school that would provide a strong education and fully prepare me for the profession. I began researching different nursing schools in addition to reaching out to friends for recommendations. One day, while scrolling through Facebook, I came across an ad for Hondros College of Nursing. It immediately caught my attention, so I liked and commented on the post. Someone responded and informed me that there was a campus in Columbus. I didn’t waste any time, I visited the campus, spoke with the admissions team, and quickly realized the school had everything I was looking for in a nursing program. That experience confirmed my decision, and I’m glad I chose Hondros College of Nursing for my nursing journey.

To succeed with school, I stayed disciplined, consistent, and focused. I managed my time well, stayed organized, asked for help when needed, and remained committed even during challenging moments. I’m truly grateful for the support and guidance I received throughout the program. Hondros College of Nursing provided me with the knowledge, hands-on experience, and confidence I needed to succeed. My journey wasn’t always easy, but staying focused and committed helped me achieve my goals. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I look forward to continuing to grow and make a positive impact as a nurse.

If you’re thinking of becoming a nurse, do your research and choose a school that truly prepares you for real patient care. Stay committed, be ready to work hard, and gain as much hands-on experience as possible—your passion and dedication will carry you through.
