Growing up, I witnessed my father and grandmother face serious health challenges and the difficulties that came with navigating healthcare disparities. Watching their struggles and ultimately losing them to their illnesses had a profound impact on me. Those experiences inspired me to dedicate myself to a career in healthcare, where I can make a difference for patients and families facing similar circumstances. I want to be part of improving access to quality care and helping prevent the progression of diseases through compassion, education, and advocacy.
I first learned about Hondros from a former high school classmate whose success in her nursing career truly inspired me. While I was on a waitlist for an RN program at a community college, I decided to explore other opportunities and discovered that this school offered a more direct and supportive path toward my goals. I appreciated that I could begin my courses immediately and start working toward my nursing degree without unnecessary delays. Choosing this school has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, it allowed me to take the next step in my journey and stay focused on my dream of becoming a nurse.
I've remained determined and confident throughout my journey, even when faced with challenges. I've pushed myself to stay disciplined and apply myself more than ever before. By staying focused, managing my time effectively, and maintaining a positive mindset, I have been able to keep progressing toward my goals and continue growing both academically and personally.
To current and future nursing students: stay focused and committed, even when the journey feels challenging. There will be difficult moments, but it’s important to remind yourself why you started and the difference you hope to make in someone’s life. Remember that every late night of studying and every obstacle you overcome brings you one step closer to becoming the change you once hoped to see in healthcare.
