At Hondros College of Nursing, excellence comes in many forms—and sometimes from unexpected places. One shining example is John M. Seeck, M.A., J.D., a distinguished member of the faculty who brings over 40 years of academic and professional experience to the classroom. Though not a nurse by trade, Professor Seeck is a passionate educator whose impact on nursing students is both deep and lasting.
A seasoned attorney, educator, fire officer and paramedic, John Seeck teaches Communication—a foundational skill for effective and compassionate nursing care. He holds a Master’s Degree in Communication and Rhetorical Theory and an undergraduate degree in Interpersonal Communication/Business, both from Marquette University. His Juris Doctorate was awarded by the University of Illinois John Marshall Law School. Beyond the classroom, he serves as the coordinator of an international oil and gas emergency response team, overseeing global operations and high-stakes crisis communications.
Despite his legal and emergency management background, Seeck’s heart is deeply invested in healthcare. “I’ve taught in many fields,” he shares, “but I have a genuine passion for medicine and nursing. The faculty and staff here are world-class, and the student nurses are absolutely phenomenal.”
His commitment to students is personal. Seeck recalls the influence of his mother, who often spoke of her dream to become a registered nurse. That inspiration still resonates in his teaching. Whether he’s guiding a class through the complexities of interpersonal communication or sharing real-world experiences from emergency situations, Seeck infuses every lesson with relevance, empathy, and rigor.
John Seeck is more than a faculty member—he’s a mentor, a role model, and an advocate for the next generation of nurses. His diverse expertise and unwavering dedication exemplify the interdisciplinary excellence that defines Hondros College of Nursing.
John Seeck is a faculty member at our West Chester Campus.
