I've always known I wanted to be in healthcare. I got my CNA license right out of High School and have been in the field since. Being able to be able to change lives for the better by providing care has been a privilege. I love my patients, and I love the work I do.
I'd been referred to Hondros College of Nursing by a couple of co-workers. When I discovered a close friend whom I had always looked up to had also graduated from there, I knew it was time to take the leap.
With how the healthcare field continuously adapts as new discoveries are made, it's a career where learning never stops. It is important to study and don’t be afraid to ask a question or for help. I made sure to take advantage of all the resources at my disposal, peer tutoring, zoom lectures, open labs, the reading in our textbooks.
The people we care for deserve to have a healthcare team abundant with compassion, respect, education, and passion so please make sure you're doing this for the right reasons. A good attitude is essential. It's not always easy or fun, but this has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had.
