HCN Success Stories

I have been working in the healthcare field since 2006, and I currently work for Henry Ford Health System as a Certified Medical Assistant. I first decided to attend school to become a medical assistant because I felt this was the best way to start my career path. I knew that I loved helping people and thought that healthcare was the right place for me, turns out I was correct! Working in this field all these years has taught me the importance of listening, being compassionate, and trustworthy. I have also gained several meaningful friendships along the way. So, almost 20 years later, I can still honestly say that I made the right choice in pursuing a career in healthcare.

I decided to attend Hondros College after many years of delaying my dream to prioritize my family, being a wife, and having children. I learned about Hondros from online research for nursing programs that would fit my needs as both a working mother and wife. Once I read about their programs and admissions requirements, it was very clear this was the school for me. They also offer flexibility with multiple start dates per year, select online classes, and accept eligible transfer credits. Although it took me a while to become a student nurse, I have to say that God’s timing is the best. My faith in God led me here, and I truly believe that enrolling at Hondros College of Nursing is the "Better Way to Become a Nurse!"

I would tell anyone considering healthcare to ensure they are mentally prepared for the journey ahead. Nursing school can be challenging, but that makes the reward that much better. Caring is one of the most important characteristics in being a successful healthcare worker! You will find yourself caring for strangers, coworkers, your family, the families of patients, and yourself.
