HCN Success Stories
Male student nurse in gray scrubs

My experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, when healthcare professionals worked tirelessly to care for patients despite significant staffing shortages, motivated me to pursue a career dedicated to serving others and providing care to the public.

I chose to enroll at Hondros College of Nursing part of American Public University System because of its strong reputation and commitment to preparing students for success in the nursing profession in Indianapolis. As one of only a small number of male nursing students in my graduating class, I achieved several key milestones on my first attempt, including the exit HESI examination, all final academic examinations, and the NCLEX-PN board examination. Throughout the program, I learned the importance of perseverance, teamwork, effective communication, and maintaining a strong commitment to my studies. I am grateful that I took the bold step to pursue a new career path, and I am fully committed to continuing my professional growth in the nursing profession.

My advice to future students is not to doubt your ability to succeed in healthcare. Stay focused, ask for help when you need it, and trust the process.
