After working 30 years in the media/advertising industry, I changed career paths and started working in education. First as a substitute teacher in middle and high schools, an instructor in college, and then as an admissions representative. As I’ve worked throughout my career, I can truly say admissions is my true passion.
For me, admissions is not just about enrolling students for school, it is an opportunity to help them change their lives! It is always so exciting when prospective students connect with me for the first time and I hear those magic words, “How Do I Get Started?” They are always excited, eager and nervous all at the same time. For some of our students, becoming an LPN is a lifelong dream and for others it is a family tradition. It is a privilege to help them start the enrollment process here at Hondros College of Nursing; starting with information sessions, entrance exams, new student orientation, and then their academic journey.
As I look at our students' faces as they walk across the stage at graduation, I can vividly remember some of the challenges some had to overcome and tears they shed to make it over the finish line. I am so very proud of our students for their determination and resilience to fulfill their dreams. As our students leave Hondros, equipped with the knowledge and skills to start their new career, the next prospective student is saying those magic words, “How Do I Get Started,” and I am more than happy to start the journey with them to fulfill their dream of becoming an LPN.
When I’m not working, I love spending quality time with my family, watching cable news and keeping up with current events.
