HCN Success Stories

From an early age, I recognized a deep desire to help others, and nursing quickly became my calling. I earned both my Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Hondros College at the Dayton Campus. Following graduation, I gained diverse clinical experience in home health care, long-term care, and acute care settings before transitioning into nursing education.

My journey into education began when I assisted with a clinical group at the long-term care facility where I was employed. Observing students apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings was profoundly rewarding. Witnessing their growth and those pivotal “ah ha” moments solidified my passion for teaching and mentorship.

As a student at Hondros College, I was deeply influenced by the unwavering encouragement and support provided by my instructors. Their dedication ensured I graduated with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills necessary to succeed in the nursing profession.

In my current role as Lab Manager, I work diligently behind the scenes to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized learning environment. I strive to ensure that our labs operate seamlessly, allowing students to focus fully on developing their clinical competencies. I take great pride in contributing to each student’s educational experience and supporting the faculty in delivering high-quality instruction.

My advice to future nursing students is to believe in themselves and to never hesitate to seek guidance. The faculty at Hondros College are committed to helping every student achieve their goals and fulfill their aspirations of becoming a nurse.
