HCN Success Stories
Nila Overton

I knew I wanted to be in the healthcare field after watching a team of nurses care for my father. He is a Cleveland Firefighter of 20-plus years who experienced a life-threatening heart event. Knowing there were people in the world who would care for a stranger like they were their very own loved one, made me realize everything in life would work out.

I wanted to attend Hondros College of Nursing because post-COVID I felt pushed to finally pursue the career I knew would fulfill me the most. In addition, Hondros has the most amazing admissions team, which made the entire process fast and seamless.

To those considering nursing school, start now! I am both a mom and a wife. I thought my opportunity to do what I had always wanted to had passed, but it did not! Although nursing school may have its challenges, being around like-minded individuals all looking to obtain the same goal makes it so worth it. Be aware that discipline is a requirement. Knowing how to be a self-starter is important to succeed. Also, solid organization skills are the keys to my reaching my goals thus far.
