HCN Success Stories

I decided to pursue a career in the healthcare field because I’ve always enjoyed helping and caring for others. My mother was a dialysis patient for 20+ years. When I was a little girl, I would go along with her to all the doctor’s appointments and treatment centers. During that time, the nurses were helping my mom understand more about her condition; they were so kind and always made sure to explain to me in detail what they were doing for my mom. From that point I just knew nursing would be the best choice for my career. As of now I have been a CNA for three years. I’ve also had experience in senior facilities and TBI centers, in addition to working alongside an amazing elementary school nurse.

I decided to attend Hondros because I heard a lot of great things about the program and what they have to offer. The campus was closer to my home, and I liked the fact that the program could be finished in as few as 12 months. I attribute my success to two specific behaviors: patience and consistency. Having patience allows me to think clearly and consistency allows me to stay on top of all my assignments and exams.

For anyone thinking about nursing school, I would say just start. There is no perfect time to plan when to start. Keep faith in yourself and know that you can do anything you put your mind too. Stay organized and always keep positive energy around you.
