My daughter was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic when she was five years old. The amount of information that had to be taught to us as parents to keep our child healthy was overwhelming. The nurses that helped us learn this information and picked me up when I was falling apart were the people who really made a difference. My daughter has had many hospital stays since her diagnosis. As a mom, you can’t always be the strong one. As a nurse, I want to provide strength to a mother in need.

Hondros College of Nursing was the right fit for me because the school is focused solely on nursing. The main goal at Hondros is to train people to be great nurses by focusing on core nursing values. There has been great training specific to overall patient care.

Nursing school can be difficult, but if you have a calling to be a nurse, do not ignore it. It is for a reason! I always tell my mom that nursing school challenges me and her response is “If it were easy, everyone would be a nurse.”

To succeed in nursing school, you have to stay organized and be on top of you assignments. You cannot fall behind. I have been able to maintain a good GPA, which is a huge accomplishment for me. You may miss out on events, movie nights, dinners, etc., but it will be worth it!
