I decided to pursue a career in healthcare because caring for others has always been important to me. My biggest inspiration was my mother, who has since passed away, and whose compassion and strength continue to motivate me every day. Being in nursing school alongside my daughter makes this journey even more special, as we are learning and growing together. Pursuing nursing feels like a meaningful way to honor my mother’s legacy while building a future centered on helping others.
I chose Hondros College of Nursing because of its supportive learning environment and hands-on approach to nursing education. The program feels personal, and I appreciate how focused it is on preparing students for real-world nursing. I also value the structure and guidance Hondros provides, which helps me stay confident and motivated throughout the program.
Success in nursing school means that I stay organized, manage my time well, and make sure to keep up with my coursework and deadlines. I ask questions when I don’t understand something and use available resources to help me learn. I also stay focused, motivated, and remind myself of my goals, especially during challenging moments.
If you’re thinking about a career in healthcare, make sure you truly care about helping people, because that’s what will carry you through the tough days. Be ready to work hard, ask questions, and keep learning—no one expects you to know everything right away. It can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding, and knowing you made a difference makes it all worth it.
My advice to future student nurses is to stay organized, manage your time well, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Nursing school can be challenging, but staying focused and remembering why you started can make a big difference. Take care of yourself, be patient with the learning process, and remind yourself that every hard day is helping prepare you to become a better nurse.
